The Rio de Janeiro Metro, took another important step in the digital world. The concessionaire began to accept in all its 41 stations, the payment of tickets through cell phone, credit card, wristband and watch with NFC technology.
The initiative, developed by MetrôRio and Visa, also has the association of Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, Cielo and will provide more agility to the clients of any issuer / bank that possess devices by approximation.
The collection of the fee will be debited directly in the invoice, without additional cost or fees, at the end of each day of use. At first, only Visa credit cards will be enabled for your use. Customers can also use their Visa card in digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay to get the approximate payment.
Passengers will still be able to acquire cards by approximation in the central station of the Metro in automatic extraction and payment ATMs. While the plastics, issued by BPP, will be prepaid, accepted at any Visa establishment and can be reloaded.
The project involved Software Express, a First Data company, which was responsible for the routing and processing of proximity transactions.
