There, the central body details that six banks, Banbajío, Banregio, Citibanamex, Mifel, Santander and Pagatodo, participate in this stage; the popular financial companies ASP Integra Options and Fincomun, and the money transfer company STP.
Of the institutions that are already in the productive pilot, but do not participate in the Interbank Electronic Payment System (SPEI), there are IX Agency, UnoDosTres payment fintech and Chedraui retailer.
Many of these, according to the information from Banxico, have already validated some or all of the four CoDi implementation routes, which are: route 1, generation of collection messages for face-to-face payment; route 2, generation of collection messages for non-contact payment; route 3, receipt of payment messages in the application, and route 4, acceptance of the types of CoDi payment in the infrastructure of SPEI participants and generation of processing notice.
Since April 29, the so-called productive pilot began, in which some financial institutions participating in the SPEI voluntarily carry out real CoDi operations, in an environment limited to certain clients and geographical areas.
“The entry into operation of the CoDi will be in the last quarter of 2019. In order to meet this date, financial institutions are already carrying out their computer and operational developments to offer their customers the service from that date,” he said. the Banxico.
BBVA, Bancoppel and Intercam, this month
Based on information from the central bank, other participants that are in the process of development are the banks Afirme, Famsa, Real Estate, Intercam, HSBC, BBVA, Banorte, Monex, CIBanco, Bankaool, Dondé, Banjército, Finterra, Actinver, Bancoppel, Bansefi and Sabadell, in addition to the financial Sofiexpress and fintech Kuspit. Of these, those that are more advanced are Afirme, BBVA, Bancoppel, Bankaool, Monex and Intercam.
The Banxico stressed that as a compulsory and previous step for the application for certification, participants must request the central bank to validate the functionality implemented in their applications, and this consists of tests between development teams to ensure that the applications have the minimum necessary to carry out the CoDi certification process.
“To date, BBVA, Bancoppel and Intercam are scheduled to validate the functionality of their implementations during the current month,” he said.
From here to September
According to the central bank, the financial institutions have already presented their work plans for the implementation of the CoDi, and therefore to join the productive pilot or later phases.
Based on this, Banco Azteca would be adding in June, other banks between July and August and others (the majority) until September. Its incorporation will also be given by the different implementation routes.
Participants voluntarily
But there are other institutions that will join the CoDi implementation on a voluntary basis. Although they have no obligation, since they do not have at least 3,000 user accounts, they want to be inside.
Some of these are American Express, Accendo Bank, GBM, Transfer, Volkswagen Bank, Libertad and Unagra, among others, according to Banxico information.

Last week, the director of the Banxico Payment System, Miguel Ángel Díaz, revealed that it will be at the end of July or the beginning of August when the second stage of the CoDi tests begins, but already in the field.
