8.3 million Guatemalans use the internet to shop online. The majority access the internet from computers (53%), followed by mobile phones (46%) and, to a lesser degree, tablets (1%).

Internet penetration rates are constantly rising and currently stand at 65% of the population.
Payment methods
Cash is the most often used transaction type in Guatemala as in many other LATAM countries. The Banco Industrial offers the most established system with cash and online payments.
Access to banking
Guatemala has low rates of banking use: only 17% of the population has a credit or debit card.
