Chile joins the record numbers that electronic commerce is achieving worldwide, exceeding 4.5 million dollars among brands that have enhanced this mechanism.
Electronic commerce has been increasing during 2019, because these types of transactions have grown 32% during the last quarter of July-September, compared to the same period of the previous year. According to a study by the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago (CCS) revealed on Thursday, so far this year more than 9,200 purchases have been made through this modality.
The study manager of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, George Lever, said that “many consumers have the habit of looking for products, choosing them online and then buying them in the physical store and, on the other hand, the habit of paying them online is also growing and go to pick them up at the physical store. ”
“On the contrary, the channel is also being fed back, that is, products that I see in the physical store and that I then buy on the online. There is a lot of interaction and those that are in as many channels as possible have the advantage that it is more likely to be in the preferences of consumers, “he said.
Considering the increase in e-commerce, the expert lawyer in consumer rights Sebastián Morando recalled that “all the commerce that is done electronically, that is, if I see a catalog, either on the internet or in a magazine and I am not going in person at the store to buy it, I have the power to regret it. ”
“All I have to worry about is that the product is in a position to serve and can be returned,” he said.
The lawyer also recommended avoiding transactions using public Wi-Fi networks or on computers that are not for personal use.
